By public transport
From Effretikon railway station, the bus no. 655 takes you to the stop Kyburg, Dorf in 20 minutes. From there it is a 3-minute walk.
From Sennhof-Kyburg railway station (S 11 and S 26) it’s less than a one hour walk to Kyburg Castle. However, you have to overcome 150 metres in altitude (steep path with 440 steps).
By bike
Some little-used country roads lead up to Kyburg Castle from Fehraltorf (Wetzikon), from the Töss valley or from the Kempt valley. Cycle routes pass by closely: The national cycle route 5 (Mittelland Route) and the regional routes 45 (Wyland-Downtown), 53 (Töss-Jona) and 86 (Rheinfall-Zürcher Oberland).
By car
The route is signposted from Effretikon, Illnau, Sennhof and Weisslingen. Parking spaces are available at the entrance to the village.
